Quality of Life

Please make sure your child takes out the green paper from their backpack. This has their gmail email and password, Raz kids and Mathletics login. All of these tools are great for sharing and continuing learning at home.

In Social Studies today we wrote down interesting facts from our Alberta text book. Afterwards, Mrs. Craig read the chapter and went over the most important points. We learned about Alberta's Natural regions: Canadian Shield, Boreal Forest, Foothills, Rocky Mountain, Parkland and Grassland. We had an interesting class conversation, "Should city grasslands be protected?" Ask your child what they were thinking.

In Math we worked on double digit addition questions with carrying. We went over different strategies and learned how to use rounding as a skill for adding.

In groups of 2 they shared their "Friendship" writing piece with one another. Many of them had great ideas on how to be a great friend or make a new one.

We learned about the meaning 'Quality of Life' today and created a poster together. What enhances a persons quality of life? They added: health, skills, family, education, basic needs met, balanced life style, activities, traveling, safety and friendship. Ask them what quality of life means to them.

Spelling words:

Red: sad, bad, glad, mad, add

Blue: kindness, friend, warm, morning, birthday

Green: Mathletics, friendship, qualities, patience, subtraction

Thursday - We are working on awesome behaviour daily! If we fill up our rock jar, we will be watching a movie on Thursday. Since I cannot hand anything out, they are welcome to bring a special snack to eat with the movie on. Thursday, they are welcome to dress up for school (still needing to wear their regular covid mask). You can also wear orange and black instead.
