Happy New Year!

We really enjoyed catching up with one another today, and hearing about everyone's activities during the break.

In morning math we practiced basic facts with multiplication and division. We will be doing 'morning math' everyday now, before silent reading. Afterwards, we created our January calendar together. Each student made a math word problem up for the day.

In writing, we came up with an adjective to describe what we hope 2022 will look like! They then wrote down 3 sentences to make this happen. Ask your child what they wrote about.

During math, we continued with symmetry. They each had to recreate the other side of a snowflake. We have these in our windows now.

In Science, at the end of the end of the day, we answered the question "What is the coldest temperature an animal can survive in?" You can follow this if you missed it: https://mysteryscience.com/mini-lessons/coldest-temp-animal-survive?loc=mini-lesson-link
